Alight you guys, I just moved to Marlyand and am in need of your favorite go-to porters that are available in Maryland. I've been spoiled with Black Butte Porter for as long as I can remember so I'm hoping that this part of the world offers something comparable. Thanks!

I'm not typically a big porter fan, but here are ones that are super easy to get around here that I've liked:
Ballast Point - Victory at Sea
    Maine - King Titus
    Brewer's Art - Zeke's Coffee Porter
Flying Dog - Gonzo Imperial Porter

Are you accessible to DC as well? DC Brau's Penn Quarter Porter I quite enjoy.

Also you can try for a local porter, Gonzo from flying dog although it's a bit more Baltic, just off the top of my head

I went to seekabrew to see if Founders (Porter) and Great Lakes (Edmund Fitzgerald Porter) were distributed to MD but apparently not. :slight_frown:

How far will you be from the PA border?

    Cheers!

Also were you looking for MD made ones or just anything that's available?

Another vote for Port City. Much to my surprise 4 of 5 people voted it #1 in a recent blind taste test against some heavy-hitters including Founders, Deschutes, and Great Lakes.

Founders Porter. Personally, I think it's the best shelf porter out there.

Between Port City Porter & DC Brau Penn Quarter Porter, I'd take Port City 100% of the time unless Penn Quarter Porter is on Nitro.

If the criteria is locally produced then my vote goes to Evolution Lucky7 porter or DC Brau Penn Quarter.

I can get down to DC and I'm interested in anything available. I'm still getting used to the beer selection in this region.

Flying Dog Gonzo is very good.

At the right time of the year Victory @ Sea is distributed there also.

Black Butte is available in VA and PA if you ever want to stock up.
