Myself and my family are taking a long weekend in Quebec City and staying on the Isle of Orleans. We're a beer centric bunch and I'm wondering what are good brewpubs, breweries, and/or beer bars in the area that are worth checking out. I found a couple suggestions from older threads but appreciate anything new!

    Thanks!

On l'Île d'Orléans, there's Pub Le Mitan (3887 Chemin Royal Sainte-Famille). I haven't visited the pub yet, but the their bottled beers (Microbrasserie d'Orléans) are good quality.

Just out of the island, in Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré there's Microbrasserie des Beaux Prés. They make some really nice stuff including a fabulous Altbier (Rivière aux Chiens), a Kölsch and many other really well executed beers.

In Québec city, a bunch of the great beer places are located in a small area on Rue St-Jean. There's Le Projet Spécialité Microbrasseries (a restaurant with 25 - I think - taps and some high quality stuff), Le Bateau de Nuit (the best beer bar in Québec city, the entry door isn't easy to find), La Duchesse d'Aiguillon (best beer store in the city) and La Buvette Scott (a very small tapas bar with a well curated beer list... making a reservation might not be a bad idea).

Other places worthy of a visit in Québec city are La Souche (a fun bar with a nice atmosphere and good beers in Limoilou) and Le Sacrement (they carry a few beers you won't find anywhere else like Brasserie Tête d'Alumette, which is quality stuff.

I also suggest to make a stop at SAQ Signature on Boulevard Laurier if you are into Ice ciders because you will find one of the best selection in the province. I can give you a few suggestions if you are interested... quickly the Domaine Cartier Potelle Cidre de Glace 2012 (vintage is really important) is a super tropical, fresh and mightily tasty ice cider and rather cheap for an ice cider at around 26$/375 ml... La Face Cachée Neige Récolte d'Hiver is consistently among the best (if not the best) but is more pricey... La Face Cachée Neige Noir (a pommeau) is one of the tastiest beverage you will ever find.... and there's many other great options. If you like wine and spirits, make sure to visit the 2nd floor. There's a tasting station where you can try some great stuff and vintage stuff for rather cheap.

Hope it helps! Have fun! :grinning:

Do not pass up the recommended ice ciders. That's all I have to say on this topic. Have a great vacation!

Microbrasserie des Beaux Prés is good the brewer was one of the founders of Dieu du Ciel, we leave for Quebec/Vermont in roughly a week and it is one of our planned stops.

Let's not forget brewers like : La Barberie, for one of the coolest terrace in town. Korrigane, for some of the best craft in town at good prices. Le Corsair, for the best view of the city. I recommend going at night for an awesome view by taking the Levis ferry.

Definitely la Barberie on Saint Roch Street. Ask for a carousel, so you get to taste 8 different flavors at a very affordable price! (I'm probably too late, sorry...)

Two great additions to Québec city beer scene in the last few months: Griendel and Noctem Artisans Brasseurs.
