Headed out to Single Cut and Finback tomorrow with my buddy. Not familiar with the area in the least. Can anyone recommend anywhere solid to grab some food? Any good beer stores? Any other breweries near by or on the way? (Coming from Jersey)

    Cheers!

If you can get over to Long Island City you can check out Transmitter Brewing, Rockaway Brewing, LIC Beer Project, and Big Alice brewing.

    Use my beer map: https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewer?mid=zwC6ezBHVgzI.kyMuRsydhsSU

There are so many great places to get food in Queens it's hard to say one spot. It all depends on where you'll be for lunch/dinner.

Astoria Bier and Cheese has good light fare (sandwiches, cheese and charcuterie...awesome stuff), a good taplist and beer for on- and off-site consumption. Singlecut and Finback are the farthest apart of the breweries (but to my thinking the best), while Rockaway, Big Alice and Transmitter are closer together and walkable. Alewife is also close to these three breweries.

Note that Transmitter doesn't have a taproom and only provides small samples from bottles (or at least that was the case when I went last in December). If you go to Rockaway, Big Alice, Transmitter and Alewife (also a beer shop next to Alewife), you can continue on to BK and hit Brouwerij Lane (taps and beer shop), Torst (good lighter fare here too, but pricey) and try to dine at Paulie Gee's (although it opens later).

Around Singlecut, you'll find lots of good Middle Eastern, Korean, etc. and near Torst there's lots of Polish food.

Astoria Bier and Cheese on ditmars is a 5 minute walk from singlecut. Good bottle selection, 10ish taps and growlers to go. As mentioned, they have sandwiches, snacks, meats and cheeses

MP Taverna down the block from bier and cheese has great happy hour specials and solid tap beer list if you want modern greek. Taverna Kyclades is also on ditmars and is good classic greek seafood. Usually a wait to get a table. Tufino pizza and Thirsty Koala are both solid and on ditmars. All these suggestions are within 10 minutes of the brewery. If you are willing to venture further let me know and I'll give more suggestions.

If you are a sandwich guy go to Sal, Kris & Charlies (aka Sandwich King) on 23rd ave and order an Italian or a Bomb (half italian/half american).

Near Finback, some people swear by Zum Stamstisch for classic german food and beer. It's not really my style but a lot of people rave about it.
