Hey everyone. Going to Montana for a family friends wedding over Memorial Day weekend. Will be staying in Bozeman, Helena, and then driving to Yellowstone after the wedding. Really looking to try: Deschutes: The Abyss (Rye Whiskey Barrel Aged), Big Sky: Ivan the Terrible (Barrel Aged) and Lewis and Clark: Tumbleweed IPA. Are these beers available on shelves in stores in Montana? Any help or advice will be much appreciated

    Thanks

Abyss rye whiskey is long gone. BA Ivan the terrible is probably gone I would imagine. Timbleweed you can find in cans, but since your in Helena you can get it right from the brewery.

You might be surprised. I saw a bottle of each Abyss variant on a shelf in Montana just last week. Probably right about BA Ivan - except maybe going right to Big Sky Brewing. If you try Tumbleweed, I suggest Prickly Pear too. Lots and lots of breweries to check out!

I'd go to the brewery for Tumbleweed. I had friends mule me a 6pk from Missoula that was good but definitely had been sitting for a bit. Frustrating to have a beer you can't normally get and then find it's past it's prime.

Just get some Zonker Stout from probably anywhere and enjoy the s**t out of that.

Try some Red Lodge Harvest Ale if you see some on draught. I just added it to the database and it is delicious.

Or go to Lewis and Clark and Blackfoot River in Helena and taste 2 of the best MT IPAs back to back.
