Read a note about this beer in Peter King's column today, and saw it's named after Eddie Vedder. My father in law is a huge Pearl Jam fan and is becoming a craft beer lover; do they bottle this beer?

Georgetown is for the most part draft-only. They've bottled some beers on a limited basis but not Eddie or any of their other standard lineup (Manny's, Lucille, Rogers, etc.).

You could get a growler of it easily.

Thanks for the info. Do you know if they do any shirts, hats, coasters....anything with that name on it?

Also, if anyone seeing this is local and wants a simple locals for locals swap, I'd love a growler. Will post in the trading forum if I don't get a bite here.

I think there are Eddie shirts, but I haven't stopped by the brewery in a while. I don't trade, but I'm sure someone will hook you up.

Thanks again. As you said, sounds like a trade won't be difficult.

Did someone help you out? I am happy to stop by the brewery and check on my next trip to Full Throttle.

Nothing yet, would definitely appreciate the help. Would be interested in the beer, plus any shirts/hats/coasters etc. that talk about the beer name.

I think it's named after Eddie Haskell, not Eddie Vedder. At least the fresh hop version was called Eddie Haskell. When they decided to make it full time it just became Eddie.

Looks like the Eddie logo/coaster includes a guitar, which seems a lot closer to Vedder than Haskell.

That's my read. Your mileage may vary.

I see they also have beers called Eddietoo and Cousin Eddie. So not sure what's the deal with all the Eddie beers. Might be all created by one of their brewers named Eddie. Either way it doesn't look like Eddie has anything to do with Vedder besides having a guitar on it. Would have made more sense to have a microphone instead.

my gut reach was Peter King doesn't know what the hell he is talking about half the time, but i didn't want to be a buzzkilll because this is a neat post. anyways, i couldn't find anything on twitter or facebook indicating the beer is named after eddie vedder, or eddie haskell, or eddie van halen, or mayor eddie murray, etc.. honestly, georgetown brewery is usually pretty specific about who they name their beer after, so this does seem to buck that trend.

for anyone interested, here's the excerpt from King's article, who's usually a complete asshat when it comes to beer but this has some nice sentiment.

    o. Beernerdness: Before I left Seattle late last Monday, I took young Klemko to the place of his dreams: Georgetown Brewing Company, for some late-afternoon sampling of the beers of one of the best small, local breweries in the country. I’ve always loved Manny’s Pale Ale, but this time I got to try and appreciate Eddie India Pale Lager (named after Eddie Vedder), which will be my Seattle fave if and when I find it on my next trip to the region. Come to the East Coast, please. That is some tremendous beer.

They also have a Cousin Eddie. The label art for that one includes an RV that looks curiously similar to the one driven by visiting Cousin Eddie (Randy Quaid) in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. So, maybe they just like the name. But, Eddie Vedder is a good bet given the guitar on the label, and Pearl Jam is from Seattle, although Eddie V is not.

I will see if I can get you a hat or t-shirt next time I am down there.

At least it's not yet another tourist insisting Mac & Jacks is the best beer ever!
