So I've noticed that my local beer store now sells a couple beers from Goose Island that I'm pretty sure they didn't before (I live in WV, our selection is pretty limited). Anyway, I noticed that they had 312 Wheat, Honker's Ale and IPA. I've been wanting to try some BCBS ever since I got on this website, but I've just assumed that I would never find it in this state. I got on the Goose Island Beer Co's page, and I realized that by far the BCBS is the most reviewed beer, so it seems like it'd be as common as the others. Any reason why I'm seeing other Goose Island beers, but not BCBS?

As for the reviews, I don't think people on this site either a) drink the others nearly as much as BCBS and b) don't feel like reviewing them if they did. With that said, I saw Goose Island for many long years before ever laying eyes on BCBS, so you might find that you're waiting a long time despite the GI distro.

    Cheers, and good luck.

Welcome to the site! Hope you enjoy your experience.
BCBS has been a very limited release in years past. In late 2011/2012 they bumped the production up quite a bit, so it appeared to be quite a bit less limited. I'm not sure how long Goose has been in West Virginia, but they usually roll out with the beers you mentioned, and possibly trickle in their Vintage series (Sofie, Matilda, Pepe Nero, Pere Jacques), and maybe next year around November/December you will see some quantity of BCBS. It's easy to trade for, once you get a feel for the site and the personalities, put out an ISO BCBS FT: something local we can't get in the Midwest, and someone will help you out. Cheers!

Because it's seasonal and your store didn't pick it up in time?

Also, the ones you listed - 312 Wheat, Honker's Ale and IPA - are brewed at a Budweiser brewery, not at GI in Chicago. They are not bad offerings, but not off the charts. Some think the quality has been diminished by this move. Haven't had any recently to know firsthand.

does your state have ABV caps?

if not, you should prob. see it at some point- they're eventually striving to have it be 'year round' (at least available enough so it lingers).

Ask your store owner to ask the distributor.

WV is currently capped at 12%, BCBS is 15%. Until we ever change that, sadly we will never see BCBS.
