saw this one at a beer store, but another with the same picture and size but a whitish grey color instead of the red.
couldnt find dates or anything on it
and the difference in pricing...18 for the red one and 16 for the white one.
    help please????

If I am thinking of the same bottles, the red-ink bottle is the Helles that was lagered for 18 months and the white-inked bottle is Samichlaus Classic, which is supposed to be the real doppelbock of the two.

Probably just a Limited Edition packaging at the time of release for the white ink. However, it would be a two-year-old bottle at this point.

Beat me to it. The helles is the pale version and the "classic" is dark. Both are arguably the most malt-forward beers you'll encounter with no ale yeasts to complicate things
