Kind of a random question but i was wondering if there is any trade value for old versions of beers that the current version is readily avalible. That might be hard to understand so ill give the example that made me ask the question.

About a year ago a did a vertical of Aventinus which is a very good beer but I thought the old versions were amazing. I've been trying to get some more. I have a 2004 and a 2006. There are also more 2006's avalible near me. I guess my questions are should I grab the other 2006's? How much would i have to give up to get say a 2005? And also in general is there trade valu in these type of vintages?

Thanks for reading my rambling and thank in anvance for any responses

Yes, vintages have value beyond the current release. But it usually takes a couple of years. For example, 2010 Stone RIS isn't going to trade for much. But 2007 Stone RIS would probably trade for something nice.

Also really depends on the beer. Aventinus releases vintages from time to time, so that's probably an easier one to obtain for a reasonable price.
