My wife and I will be rolling through town Friday on our way to Lake Travis. Anyone have any recomendations for a place to grab some good food and a few good pints for lunch?

    Thanks!

    Eric

If you want BBQ, I'd actually recommend J. Mueller Meat Co., simply because they are very close to Franklin in quality, and no 2 hour lines.

As far as food AND beer, I'd recommend Pinthouse Pizza or Black Star Co-Op (only because I'm personally not a fan of the food at Bangers)

J Mueller is great. John smokes prime rib on Friday. It's fantastic.

Pinthouse pizza for lunch. Or Hopfields if you want something fancy-ish.

I am thinking we might try Hopfields. The tap list looks good and the food looks good too. Thanks for the suggestions guys!

Burger is solid. Nicoise salad is solid and the mussels with fries are solid.

Bangers has a solid tap selection, and their weekday lunch special is good too. $7 for a brautwurst dog (house sausages), two toppings, side, and a pint of local beer. Get the peppercorn ketchup with your fries!

    Does Hopfields do growler fills?

    Thanks,

    Eric

BANGERS rock, you can by bottles from them to go as well and their lunch special is descent as well.
Hopfields is rather small so if you go after 4 or 5 it will be crowded.

Expensive though. Go to The Growler Room.

Skip Bangers if you are from out of town. Yes, it is great, but go with Craft Pride. Drink the 60ish taps of all Texas beer. Bangers has a great selection as well, but it has beer from everywhere. Focus on stuff you cant normally get.
