Hey kids, Currently in Anaheim with the wife, visiting the big mouse. We are waking up early to start the drive towards Yosemite. Our route is taking us down I-5 some of the way, with the remainder of our drive on 99. Any places right off 99 worth stopping to grab some beer to go? I'm sure I can find a somewhat decent selection once in the area of YNP, but if there's anything notable along the way I welcome the suggestion. Gotta stretch our legs sometime, ya know? The reason I am not inquiring about stops along I5 is that we will be leaving pretty damn early (6 or so) so we need to wait until these places start opening. Thanks
Unfortunately you're not going to find many notable beer stops along that drive. You'll most likely be leaving the 5 around Fresno to head east toward YNP. Your best bet by far will be to stock up in SoCal. Whole foods in Fresno will have a decent selection, but nothing you won't be able to find in SoCal. After you leave Fresno and head toward the park the options dwindle. I would suggest imbibe in Bakersfield, but if you're leaving Anaheim at 6 am they won't be open when you pass through.
it's not too many miles from where you are now till where it's mostly beautiful nothing and since you are leaving early in the morning, when nothing is open you've waited too long good luck & cheers if you are reading this within minutes of posting, you've a little window tonight, sorry but I don't know Anaheim jd
I always stop at Country Club liquor in Bakersfield. They have a nice selection, you should be able to grab a couple offerings from Kern River Brewing.
Just go to Kern River and fill up on growlers. You won't regret it (except for the extra 2 total hours of driving you do, but it's worth it).
