Hey everyone. I will be staying at The Westin on Michigan Avenue for a conference this week/weekend and I am curious what would be the best place to find some nice bottles nearby. I will be busy with conference related activities most of the time, so it would be ideal to find a place that is as close as possible to the hotel. Thanks.
Let me get that for ya: http://beeradvocate.com/community/search/81107/?q=visiting+chicago&o=date&c[node]=9
Correct, I could have searched and simultaneously mapquested every recommended location to determine it's proximity to the hotel, but somehow I thought those local to the area might be willing to make my search more efficient by sharing their expertise/knowledge of the area. What I find interesting is that you spent far more time searching for and linking your humorous condescension than had you simply made a suggestion. You win the internet this time. Congrats.
I can go either way on this comment, since I can see both sides. Understand that this question is posted multiple times a week on this forum, so your best bet is to do a search. Cabbing it is your best bet to a nicer shop, but I think there is a Binny's on Grand and a Whole Foods on Huron that might have some bottles that are worth your while that are close.
Binny's is always a good stop. If you have the courage to pay a taxi fare or you happen to have a car, try and get to West Lakeview Liquors. They'll have SOMETHING that you'll be happy to walk out of the door with. If you want to drop some big bucks for something rare, then head to Lush.

Actually took me sub sixty seconds. Takes longer than that to do your research for ya Just so you know, this question gets asked A LOT... so the odds of you finding others staying on Michigan and asking your question are high. It's cool you want some advice, I'm just trying to help an out of Towner realize another possible tool at his dispensing. No insult, untwist the boxers, its all good.
This sounds awfully smug coming from somebody that doesn't understand how internet searches work. This question is asked a few times a month; dig a little.
