Question for you CA guys...

Sure seems like there are more IP trades for the other regions than here. But I look at it daily to see if there's anything interesting. Wish I knew of how we could improve it though.

 

I check it out from time to time but notice that a lot of the PMs I send are never even read. Not sure if it got done before I saw it or not.

Problem is I see most for LA/OC and then the Bay or a meetup at SARA. I don't see a ton for SD.

 

I check it out pretty much every day and have done 2-3 in person trades over the last couple months. I already spend too much on beer as it is, so I have a hard time justifying shipping costs. Wish there were more postings there, but it is what it is.

 

I used to check way more often, but I had a handful of no show experiences and bad communication. You know what would be cool is having a bottle share and group trade. A day to bring those extra bottles that you traded for or bought too many of. I know I have an ass ton of Jester King laying around and there just aren't enough shares to drink them 2 at a time.

 

I never think to look. I should start, maybe missing out on opportunities

 

Yeah, I tried but so many failed attempts to get something off the ground that was worth it or at least not completely one sided. So eh. I'd rather just take it to a bottle share, which the pacific area does have a lot of and thus, I open a rare whalez up and everyone gets to try. a better win win situation

 

You're in LA right? Planning on going to the Doughroom this Friday?

I think its because most stuff that other guys get in CA I can get as well. Very few things that are not distributed through the whole state

 

About 6 out of my last 10 trades have been through the IP forum. I try to check it at least once a week.

 

I've had a bunch of IP trades get done, and have had no bad experiences. Maybe I've just been fortunate. I think a lot of people (myself included) don't post in there because having the same post in IP and in ISO:FT often equals deletion. I've taken to just asking CAs who post in ISO:FT where they're located to see if we can arrange an IP.

 

The only trades I ever do are done through the IP Forum. I really feel like paying for shipping costs so it works better for me. As other have mentioned, it's not always easy finding someone to trade with locally as many of us have the same bottles.

That being said. ISO: Night Shift Berliners!!

I can't seem to get enough of those bottles! haha

 

Do they do a bottle share there or something? Haven't had the chance to get over there and check them out yet

I am just bad at trading things. Once I obtain something I completely undervalue it. Since I work so much I assume people that don't work as much have more time to get the hard to find stuff, so if I have it, it must not be worth that much.
