Question on shaking carboy

    re-read the Op for further clarity. It looks like you're just doing this to do this, and not because you're trying to solve a particular problem. In which case, I'll default, to the relax, don't worry, have a homebrew, and stop futzing with it. the best way to let a beer ferment is to leave it in a quiet dark place of a reasonable temperature and not worry.

    If you're looking to increase your hoppiness, there are lots of gadgets that will do this, and you may wish to try them instead.
