I've been trying to amass several years of this beer after having a really sublime experience with a 1999 vintage back in 2008. That said, I just found out that the recipes vary slightly from year to year. After just having opened a 2004 last weekend, I have to say that I was a little disappointed and thought it was definitely heading down hill.

I have 2005 through 2011 left and was wondering if anyone has had some recent experiences with vintages 2005 to 2008. Should any be opened now or be cellared longer?

    Thanks and Cheers.

I had a wonderful experience with an 07 in 2010 which was the first time I had tried it. You can read my review here - http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/71/19426/?ba=divineaudio. I had an 08 last year and in comparison, was a little disappointed. I found the 08 to have much more herbal hop bitterness, and very little of the malt sweetness that I liked in the 07. I'm hoping I just had it in a weird stage though.

I am also interested in hearing peoples experiences with these guys. I have bottles of 06-08 and have been contemplating picking up 09-11.

    Any feedback would be awesome!

Hmmmm. Makes my want to open my 2007 especially since Fullers believes the Vintage peaks in about 5 years.

I had the '04 a few weeks ago and thought it was rather good!

As for the '99 I've had 3 this year to date

The first was sublime, the second nowhere near as good!

The third, last weekend, was decent a little better than the '04, but not a patch on the first '99

Keep trying them, there is definately a variation within a year and probably more so the older you go!
