Back from the trip and with a HUGE thank you for all of the great advice! This forum (BeerAdvocate) has become one of my "go to places" for travel advice.

Circumstances were such that I was not able to hit Memphis and ended up staying in Nashville for a few more days. I truly love this city and I cannot wait to go back to Tennessee! What a great place. I've traveled pretty extensively and my only criticism for Nashville and the surrounding area is that the people maybe too friendly!! (Can that even be??) Anyway, loved the trip and, again, thanks for the advice.

THE WINNER: I tried many of all of your recommendations and will go back to many of them. Believe it or not, the first response is the winner, imyourhero21, being the first to provide the best bottle shop recommendations (not a hard thing to do but he/she was the first) AND perhaps the best BBQ restaurant to which I've ever been. (Note: I happen to be a Certified Kansas City BBQ Society Judge and have judged in over 40 contests. I eat a lot of BBQ all over the country). HOWEVER, simply the best dry rub ribs I've ever had (and my wife, also a judge, agrees) are at: Peg Leg Porker which I understand is relatively new to Nashville and comes out of Memphis! (It's around the corner from Arnolds, which we hit on Monday during fried chicken day - a true treat as well).

Anyway, lots of good info in this threat and you all have my thanks. imyourhero21 wins as being the first with Craft Brewed, Frugal McDougal AND Peg Leg Porker which put him/her over the top.

A bottle of Pliny the Elder and something else from California will be send to imyourhero21 who I'm contacting today. (I'll send something else if he/she doesn't want an IPA).
