but they are putting 'affordable' housing along south main st, because we don't spend enough money on the 'poor' already.

You got a map that shows the cannery and the amtrak station without 89 running in between them?

I got the impression from their postings that the most current double batch isnt the true capacity and they will be making more, with that said I definatley think they'll still be selling out quickly. Hope it isnt bad as its been far too long since ive enjoyed me some heady topper.

You obviously don't live in this area, do you?

If you did, you would realize that the cost of living in Chittenden County is outrageous and those same rental costs often spill into other counties as college students seek out cheaper rents (after already driving up the rents with mommy and daddy's money).

It really is, the cost of living here is like suburban Long Island or New Jersey. People might see the cost of our houses and think it's reasonable, but the salaries are total sh!t. Managers making 30K. Tons of people working two $10 an hour jobs with no benefits.

Well, when I'm up there March 13-15, I'll gladly talk socioeconomic policy with any of you over a brew :grinning:

"Moonlight in Vermont - or Starve." Truer words were never posted on a bumper. And I live in "affordable housing" paid for with 2 jobs, so let's not go there!

Random but relevant question. If one were to go to the brewery and find them sold out, are there stores in the area that would sell Heady?

I do in fact! Expensive, some places. Outrageous? I'll have to disagree.

I didn't mean to start a political-ish discussion in this thread, let's all pop a HT and hug-it-out.

    Sounds good to me.

The bottom line is that people need a place to live and unless the economy picks up, there will always be a need for affordable housing.

You might get some at Hunger Mountain Co-op in Montpelier or a couple places in Chittenden County. Check the Alchemist website for distribution. I *think* they hold a small amount back for distribution, so you might find it at a store when the brewery is sold out. Quantities would be severely limited.

Not sure I love the idea of tramping down a busy road. Any locals know if a cab from the Park and Ride is an option?

I would think you'd want the cab after you actually had something to carry more than on the way there. I've driven the road and in the absence of snow, the walk is not the end of the world. It's not like walking in Boston or New York or fill in your city, but it's a VT State road. I'd also bet you could probably find a kind fellow beer drinker at the brewery to give you the ride down the hill that you need.
