Figured I'd add another bottling query.

So yesterday I bottled my IRS and I didn't have a bottling bucket, or any bucket, or any carboy clean so I added my priming sugar directly to my secondary (where the beer had been for a couple months). It foamed up a bit when I put it in there and then I bottled it using a wand and cane. I didn't want to mix it up too much because the secondary had quite a bit of cocoa and chocolate in it.

Do you think it will turn out ok? I typically keg, but I have been brewing so much lately that bottling has become a necessity.

Edit: I used 3 oz +/- of corn sugar dissolved in a little water hoping for right around 1.75-1.9 vols.

If you didn't mix it, how do you know the priming sugar mixed evenly. You might end up with bottle bombs... :grimacing:

I have a feeling that little amount of syrup went straight to the bottom and very little (if any) was really mixed into your beer. I'd wait 10 days to see what you get, but be prepared to uncap those bottles and add some sugar to get it done right.

I was afraid of that as well, didn't really think about it until afterwards. I'll give it a couple weeks and check like you said. Thanks for the help.
