    Hey gang,

Ill be passing through town this coming sunday on the way from South Carolina to Illinois. Ill have one evening in Indy. Ive been looking at hotwire rooms for the night and for well under $100 I could get either a 3-4 star place downtown or a 3-4 star place NE of downtown off the interstate loop close to Broad Ripple area. Where would be the better area if I wanted to hit 2-3 cool places for some nice beers and maybe a good sandwich somewhere? I don't really care about finding the rarest most extreme selection, just as long as there are some good solid locals/ Midwestern choices and also a cool vibe. I see several cool looking places in Broad Ripple almost right on top of each other. Downtown the Rathskellar looks pretty cool (I love German beer hall type places) but the downtown breweries look pretty much closed on Sunday. So, if you were me and wanted to make the most out of your 4-5 hours in Indy on a Sun night, what would you do?

    Thanks

    Ryan

good beers and a good sandwich? Fat Dans Deli at 54th and College in South Broadripple. Dynamite sandwiches and burgers....beer will be good and Twenty Tap is right next door....get the cheese curds at 20 tap.

Co-sign the Fat Dan's/Twenty-Tap side by side arrangement. That's tough to beat.

If you do stay in Broad Ripple, I'd also suggest Hop Cat and Brugge Brasserie, though 20 Tap and Fat Dan's is an awesome combo too.

Thanks for the advice everybody. Looks like it's Broad ripple. One last question, how about the triton taphouse? looks like it's right there with everything else. and from the pictures it looks like a cool little building. but is there beer any good?

Also, if anybody wants anything from around here and wants to meet me and my friend out on Sunday evening for an in person trade, let me know. I have access to Westbrook and Coast here in Charleston.

Broad Ripple for sure although you can really double dip for the most part from either. B-Rip is about 10 minutes from downtown.

If you go to Broad Ripple I would recommend Brugge Brasserie and the Tripel De Ripple and the Pooka Sour. Twenty Tap has great burgers and a nice rotating tap list of 38 taps. It's in South Broad Ripple and pretty chill. And Fat Dan's beside it is another excellent eatery. There is a HopCat further north in Broad Ripple that has 130 or so taps. I think they have a few things overpriced. Triton Brewery is located in Broad Ripple as well as a number of other bars! Cheers Bro and enjoy your time!

just my opinion, but I'd probably pass on the Triton Brew House.....it is a cool building and their beers are OK, but you can probably find them at Twenty Tap as well. I'd rather hit Brugge or Broadripple Brew Pub AFTER Fat Dans/Twenty Tap.
