Quick New Jersey trip help...

    Heading down to Asbury Park today and looking to hit maybe one or two stores (buddy isn't a beer drinker, don't want to drag him all over) looking for things I can't get in Mass (great lakes, maybe Terrapin?) Where should I look? Does the Wegmans in Ocean Township have a decent selection ? Thanks for any help, I also plan on stopping by Kane if time allows.

    Go to Kane! You'll be minutes from the best brewery in the state.

    Get a growler of Head High.

    Its the first thing I plan on doing. They are open til five I believe.

    Wegmans (and all grocery stores) won't sell beer. State law. You have to go to a liquor store. Marketplace Wines & Spirits on Rt. 18 in East Brunswick would be my suggestion.

    Most NJ Wegmans have attached liquor stores, including the one in Ocean Twp., which operate under the dba name of "Wegmans Wine And Spirits". They are "independently-owned and operated" only in the sense that the license is owned by a Wegmans family member, not the corporation, as a loophole around NJ law that prevents more than two off-premise licenses under the same ownership.

    A few NJ Wegmans (Princeton, for one) can sell beer in the grocery section, which is allowed by local ordinance.

    Another large grocery-store w/attached liquor store nearby is the ShopRite Liquors on Rt. 66 in Neptune.

    The Wegmans "liquor store" which is connected to Wegmans and flows into it is basically right across the street from Kane.

    Yes, considering how close it is to Kane. That way you won't feel like you are dragging your friend all over the place.

    The Wegmans in Ocean is worth stopping in, especially since it is so close to Kane. They have some from Maine, The Bruery, an OK Belgian selection, etc.

    Other good stops in the area would be Court Liquors in Long Branch or Spirits Unlimited in Red Bank.

    Kane rocks I tried there double ipa OVER HEAD and it was fantastic next trip I will grab some of there HEAD HIGH for sure !!!
