Background: I'm running a Fantasy Football league where each participant has to ante 1 "limited" beer (brewery-only release, once per year release, etc.). One guy has ante'd a BA BORIS Would you consider this beer to be "limited?" Thanks and cheers!
It's on the shelf year round in WI, and I believe that is the case across its distro but could be wrong.
Definitely not a brewery only release and I'm fairly positive they release more than one batch per year.
They make many different variants, but none that are brewery only release that I can recall from the days I lived up that way (moved last November). Tell your friend to try again. Even the BORIS Van Wink went into distro... that's not to say they did not release it in the brewery first, just that some did end up in distro.
Or, maybe you could just accept that the person made a good-faith effort to find a nice beer and not be snobby about it? Unless this person is a mega beer nerd and you think they are providing the BORIS to try to not part with nicer stuff in his/her collection, I don't think I'd be inclined to say it's not WHALEZ BRUH enough to bet with. Not to mention you seem to be located in California, so it would not appear that you'd normally have access to Hoppin' Frog beers, and this beer is quite good. Just my two cents.
The information regarding the Van Wink is completely inaccurate. Sold out the day of release at the brewery.
It's priced higher than many limiteds, if that makes any different. Maybe see if he'd make it a BA BORIS/BA DORIS combo.
The only thing limited about BA Boris is the number of consumers that purchase it. Solid beer, but definite dust collector at the price they charge. I'd accept what he has offered though, it is a great beer.
Yeah price 16.99... Not a premier beer but not a pos either.. I would pay a regular 9.99 for the bomber
At least one store in WI got BA DORIS as I was able to pick up a bottle; didn't hear it popping up anywhere else though.
Yeah, pretty sure Otto's still has both on the shelf. Great beers, but with Big Bad Baptist right next to it for $11.99, it's a no-brainer.
