Hi all, havent been here in a while but i know this is the place to go for helpful beer community.

I am taking a quick, 3 day trip next week with my pregnant wife to Savannah and was looking for suggestions on three things (below). I wont have a car so going far from the city will be a challenge.

    1) bottle shops?
    2) restaurants with interesting, local beer menus (and restaurant suggestions in general)
    3) any other must-visit locations, breweries or non beer related locations.

    thank you in advance.

    Rob

There's actually a pretty good Savannah Thread on here I used for my trip last year...my must stops for the future are

Bottle Shop absolutely hit Habersham Beverage Warehouse..if Savannah gets it,they have it

Restaurants..Crystal Beer Parlor..fabulous food and craft beer menu...non beer restaurant you have to go to is Ms Wilkes Boarding House

I actually liked Moon River Brewing's Beer and Food more than many on here do..I would stop again as it's within walking distance of all the downtown hotels

Must do is take one of the street trolley tours of Savannah..unlike in Charleston you can get on and off at any point and it's a great way to see a really cool old city

    Hope this helps

Have dinner or lunch on Moon River's patio. I like the beer selection, and it is very centrally located for the tourist. Crystal Beer Parlor is really cool. The city is very walkable and there is no open container law, so everyone will serve you any beer or cocktail in a plastic roadie cup if you ask.

I was there in the fall, and Georgia breweries are still subject to some arcane laws. Coastal Empire is my favorite of the three in town, but the least conveniently located.

Good food is everywhere. Just yelp it.

I was just down there for St. Paddy's weekend and found a new-ish spot called "White Whale Craft Ales" down at the bottom end of Forsyth Park (away from the river). Address: 1207 Bull St, Savannah, GA 31401

Good selection and the owner was super nice and helpful. They had a decent selection of Cigar City, they had Orpheus stuff, and much to my surprise had BA Bible Belt on the shelf and in the cooler...nothing like walking around at 1030am drinking that on the street! They also have a 10-12 tap growler station and will let you build-your-own six pack.

Also, I can echo the recommendations for Habersham Beverage. Both locations have a good selection and you should leave disappointed.

    Cheers!

I went to Savannah last spring and ate at Ms Wilkes Dining Room. Very popular there I believe. Everyone sits together in one big round table and eat what they give you. No ordering, no special requests, just good southern home cooked food. I remember there was a looong line for that place so get there early. Definitely worth the experience.
