Heading to Tacoma from NC this Thursday-Saturday (10/24-10/26) and was hoping to get some recommendations for breweries, bottle shops, and specific breweries/beers to seek out at the bottle shops. I was planning to hit E9, Parkway Tavern, The Red Hot, and Peaks and Pints and possibly Odd Otter, Narrows, Harmon. Breweries I can't get on the east coast that I will be looking for Fremont Brewing, Lost Nation, Floodland, Pfriem, Matchless, Hair of the Dog.
Add Pint Defiance to your list. You'll be able to get all these breweries except for Floodland as they don't sell their beers at retail.
Thanks for the recommendation. We were thinking of grabbing lunch in Seattle. Is it better to grab some food and go to Fremont or are there better options on a Thursday at 11:00 a.m.?
That's a pretty good idea for a Thursday, since Holy Mountain doesn't open until 3. Un Bien or Paseo is a good lunch recommendation. Down in Tacoma, E9 and Narrows are your best bets for breweries. Harmon is in the midst of going out of business, FYI. Maybe check out the cool McMennamins buildout downtown.
The new McMennamins looks worth checking out as well as Tacoma's Spanish Steps. Meanwhile, up North, we're stuck with a McMennamins in a strip -sigh-
What’s wrong with the Bothell School location? It has a full size swimming pool, hotel and movie theater.
You'll have to run a search in one of the old NW threads, but I think it was announced 6 or 7 months ago now (at least). As I recall, the restaurant was to stay open, but the brewery part was closing down.
