Has anyone tried using rabbit tobacco in a beer? Or in anything for that matter?

I saw it used on a cooking show the other day and it was described as having a cognac flavor. I immediately thought, hmmm, that could be good in a beer. I'm not a big user of herbs and spices in beer, but I do like to try unusually spiced beers.

    Any herbologists out there?

I think it could be a nice flavor in an RIS or wee heavy.

Do you just shove the whole thing in? Probably would need to use a bucket to ferment...

I like the name too, rolls off the tongue much better than the latin name Gnaphalium obtusifolium. It's also known ans Sweet Everlasting and Life Everlasting. But it seems there are many varieties. The one I saw on the cooking show was Pseudognaphalium californicum or California Everlasting and was described as having a bitter curry flavor as well as the cognac. http://www.urbanoutdoorskills.com/sept-oct2013.html
