Do with this information what you will. As a former Des Moines area resident, this one is more sentimental just because of how long it's been around and predates the craft explosion by years. As far as how good the beers were, I can't judge either way. I haven't been in forever and there's too many breweries and restaurants to try for the handful of times I get back each year.

Not really surprising after the Register ripped them in a review a week or so ago.

Did not know they had a Wynkoop connection just like our Upstream's here in Omaha. Interesting

I'll give them points for being around during the first craft beer boom, but I've never had a consistently good product from them spanning the years. I'm hopeful another brewery pops up in that space.

I'm sure Exile opening a few blocks away has hurt their business.

Yeah, sorry, but when you can get Exile and Court Ave beers that are much higher quality just a couple blocks away, this doesn't surprise me. I never had a beer there I thought was very good.

Yep, their beers always seemed to be very run of the mill if you ask me....a red, a brown, a pale ale, etc. That was cool back in the 90's, but you have to evolve to what people want today. I did used to love going there to play pool back in the day, but haven't been for years and won't really be missed for me. Still a bummer to see them go after almost 20 years.

Cool space, mediocre beer. I never got the impression that they were all that into making beer.

The pool tables there were nice.
