Is it permissible to post on BA about raffling off a box of beer for a charity benefiting out of work (bc of stay at home orders) service industry workers? It’s not a sale because money goes straight to the charity and the raffle consists just of showing donation receipt and sending a shipping label, but it’s a grey area between a trade and sale so I wanted to ask before posting.

There used to be a lot of similar posts/set ups in the BIF forum.

Got a gaming license? Some states consider a raffle a form of gambling.

There have beens some done here in the past. I think the route they went was to set up a Go Fund Me page and had you do donations to it and list your BA handle. The specific instance I remember was an individual trying to raise some money for a friends daughter who was ill and having a lot of surgeries. He was requesting donors and every few days would do a drawing and ship out some of his cellar.
