Hey guys, I've seen a few raffles pop up through the years I've been on this site. I was hoping someone who ran one might be able to give me some tip and pointers. I'm in the process of setting one up for my cousins family. any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance and cheers!
@RayOhioFelton and @forgetfu probably have some good insight. I'm curious, are you hoping to gather funds for a charity, or for the family themselves? By all means go for it regardless, just personally I'm always more comfortable giving to the ones where an organization receives the funds rather than a person.
@LehighAce06, It will be for the family. My cousin is battling cancer for the fourth time and it doesn't look good (she was given a few months by the doctors). We have already started setting up a college fund for her kids, nine and five, and maybe help with some medical bills that have pilled up. I've just seen a few people do a raffle over the years and though I would do what I can to help them out.
So sorry to hear about all that, it truly is sad. You are right that there have been some raffles "for the family" and I've personally contributed to a couple. I hope my comment did not come across as crass, that was not my intent.
No, not at all. I just thought the situation could use a little more clarification. Thank you for your input, I appreciate any that I get!
