Looks like CM on Hulen still has plenty for those wanting some, really not that elusive this year:

I feel like they might have diluted it more than 70/30 based on the insane quantities I've seen out there.

Yeah its not hard to get and compared to BBA Temptress I don't even want any more.

I didn't really care for it that much. Too much malt & not enough bourbon flavor.

I think you were looking for bourbonadvocate. I think this is the first time I've ever seen anyone say the beer has too much malt.

I've had beers that had a distinct grain taste to them. Like unsweetened cereal. Isn't overly pleasant.

That's not due to too much malt though. I've had people bring beer that tasted like that to homebrew club before as well. Its really weird, especially when its supposed to be an IPA but smells like a grain bag.

I just didn't care for the beer that much. Just saying the malt flavor overpowered the bourbon. Poured out about a 1/4 of it.

I haven't had the beers in years, but it seems like most people's objection is with the beer itself. Rahr might want to reevaluate their base beer recipe. Bourbon would only cover up any deficiencies in their base beer, which is kind of a waste of perfectly good barrels. The barrels should be used to compliment an already good beer, not make a bad beer good.

I know a lot of DFW people will boo me for this, but...

This is Rahr we are talking about... :grinning:

I'll still take them over Karbach.

If you want to get Boo'd you best learn to do it correctly.

    Srsly? :stuck_out_tongue:

I've never had a single Rahr beer I'd pay for again. Most I'd never drink again unless I was really desperate.

To me Weisse Versa is better than anything Rahr makes. Not to mention Hop Delusion, Hopadillo (which I will say is only mediocre), Weekend Warrior, Hellfighter, and BBA Hellfighter. Do they have meh beers, sure, but I'd say they are more hit than miss.

I know Rahr has it's followers, and I get that a lot of people feel that way about Karbach, but come on!

Rahr is easily the worst brewery here in the DFW area. I get why it has its fans since it has been around for a while, but there are too many great breweries in the state now to bother with its mediocre offerings.

Attend one of their anniversary parties and you'll understand. I used to be in your boat but ... your mind will be blown. Stamp that and push it down the line, cause that's a guarantee.

Why? Are they saving all of their good stuff for the anniversary party and bottling the stuff that didn't make the cut the rest of the year?

Community's Tap Room Grand Opening is this Friday. That might kill any chance of me ever going to Rhar.

They let their brewers play. They will have tons of positive change over the next year that will allow some of their brewers beers to make it to market. They also just bought a canning line that should come into play before Summer. @UtisTheLaw , @raffy313 and @H0rnedFr0gs know what I'm talking about.

Yes the BBAWW was a flop and their German line up can be boring. Just trust me, there's a lot of potential out there.
