Hi folks. I'm new to BA and fairly new to craft beer. I'm making the transition from bourbon, scotch and tequila to beer. I'm looking to connect with other craft beer aficionados in the area. I found the "TriBeer" community / group on Facebook, but it seems fairly dormant and days after submitting my "join" request, I still haven't been added. It would be nice to participate in something like a Facebook group with others here in the Raleigh area, especially other craft beer newbs that may be looking to meet new people. Other than TriBeer, does something like this already exist? If not, would others be interested in participating in a new, open Facebook group? There is a facebook group that's really broad (I think over 200 members) and not just Raleigh/Triangle area. I'll grab a link later. There are also a number of smaller tasting groups scattered around the area. If you ever feel like driving over to Durham/CH, check out this thread. A bunch of beer drinkers in the Durham area head to Sam's Quikshop on Friday afternoons/evenings, since Sam's usually does a tasting of some sort. I don't spend that much time over in Raleigh so others will have to chime in on what usually goes on over there.
