In a lot of cases you can let popularity speak for itself. Angus Barn is packed all the time and no one but hipsters in Raleigh give a fuck about beer from Raleigh, that must be because it's a hidden gem and no one has discovered the wonderful hop on top.

Lines won't be an issue until someone makes something that's worth a shit. Can someone tell me one beer made in Raleigh that you could trade? Hubris? haha

So you don't have anything of substance to contribute? I was wondering why I had you on ignore before, but now I remember it's because you're nothing more than a troll and a poor one at that. Back to ignore ya go.

I traded quite a few bottles of BA The Miller's Toll, heard nothing but compliments from those who have tried it.

It's true that if your goal is to trade beer then you aren't going to be big on Raleigh breweries.

I prefer to drink beer, and I find there's plenty of great stuff on tap these days to keep me happy.

Regardless, I don't see the point in hating on Raleigh breweries on a thread about an event that is intended to celebrate beer in Raleigh.

I haven't seen many hipsters at Lynnwood or Bond Brothers, but I'll look harder next time.

Stopped by Bond Brothers yesterday, damn they are making some tasty stuff. The Izzy was probably one of the best strawberry sours I have had besides JK's O&P. Fun place as well, will def be coming out there often for the run club.

BBA The Miller's Toll is excellent. Normal TMT is pretty good too, but the BBA version was great. I hope they release it again next year.

I have also traded BBA Miller's Toll, and everyone has loved it.

This is from April, regarding Raleighwood. BUT if you look at the barrels closely...

Do I know you? I say this often about the Raleigh scene.

Let's play a game...name a "great" beer made in Raleigh and I'll name a better one that is locally available as well as one that is able to be traded for.

So you're telling me that if I name a beer that's made in this city then you can name a better one that's available either here or somewhere else in the world? Mind = blown.

Don't misquote me. I said a "great" beer. If you think a beer from Raleigh is great and there is a better example available in Raleigh that is made elsewhere, why drink the Raleigh beer? Just to be a homer? Do you drive an American car too?

Also, in looking at your top 100 rated beers, only 9 are from NC and not a single one is from Raleigh. Doesn't this prove that not even you think that Raleigh has any truly great beers? Then again, you scored Hubris slightly higher than PseudoSue, so your credibility may need to be questioned in the first place....

You're trying too hard bro...way, way too hard.

I rate beers as honestly as I can at the time. I don't look back at the over 1,000 beers I've rated every time I have one and see where it falls in relation to every other one. To do so would be downright maniacal. I've had quite a lot of great beers, I didn't know that if it wasn't in my top 100 then it didn't qualify as great...sorry Ghandi Bot and Dinner, you didn't make the cut!

My advice would be to lighten up a bit, you don't currently seem like someone who would be very fun to have a beer with.

You could piss in a jack daniels bottle and put it in the closet for 6 months and idiots would trade for it and say it's awesome.

Plus, Angus Barn has a far better atmosphere than Food Lion. I can buy a nice N.Y. Strip and prepare it at home every bit as well as Angus Barn can.

Whatever, "bro." You were the one who started by arguing with someone else about how there are "above average" IPA's coming out of Raleigh. I showed you how your own opinion doesn't even bear that out.

Bottom line, if we the beer drinkers let Raleigh breweries continue to get away with making sub par beer, we will continue to have access to sub par beer.

So you're really going to double down on saying that my opinion doesn't matter because I have one beer ranked 0.01 points higher than another that's not even the same style? LOL oh @twowheelssoar let's hope you're not living in a glass house!

You have Mirror Pond rated higher than Zombie Dust and Edward. Silent Night rated higher than Huna, Abraxas, DB Zhukov and a bunch of other awesome stouts. I mean come on, I'm really not trying to argue with you, but if you're going to say that your opinion matters more than mine because of a beer rating then you might want to make sure you've got something a little better to back that up.
