Trying to satisfy my curiosity, I was wondering if I were to use blueberries to randall a pale ale would it turn blue or more on the purple lines?
Such a light taste, might consider crushing some of them to get a bit more of the flavor in there....it ain't exactly hops or pineapple which imparts tons of flavor. Sounds interesting though.
Cheap way to find out.. Use a 2" steel tea ball and let it sit in your beer.. Pour the beer over the full tea ball initially, and let it sit 15-20 minutes. Any longer and carbonation/temp. may change. I'm surprised bars or breweries haven't offered up personalized beers at this point. Think of Cold Stone Creamery with the addition of toppings.. "Gimme 1/4 ounce of citra, some oak chips, and a pinch of grapefruit zest please"
Randalled a kettle sour from a local brewery with fresh blueberries in my Randal junior (crushed them in the Randall) it didn't turn blue at all, it was still just yellow beer, it did taste a lot like blueberries though.
