Also really liked duclaw's oz fractional ipa as it was a random treat.
Evolutions secret spot winter ale was delightful and a once only.

Both from well-known and well-respected breweries, but I don't ever see either one mentioned on here. Loved 'em both!

I had Hacker Pschorr's Golden Lager last night, and I really enjoyed it. I was surprised to see it wasn't rated that well.

Belvoir Dark Horse Mild. Brewster's Hophead.
Both good enough to convert anybody to drinking session beer.

By random I take it you mean just lesser known beers? If so, I'd go w/ :

    Lake Placid Ubu Ale
Beck's Oktoberfest (Not random, but never see/hear it discussed)
Cisco Brewers Summer of Lager (damn good Helles lager)
Lowenbrau, St Pauli Girl, St Pauli Girl Dark (beers that aren't rare, but aren't rated highly, that I really like)

Lakefront - Fixed Gear (year round hopped up Red Ale that is vastly underrated and overlooked).

I recently and had a couple of beers worth note....I dont know if they are considered random..but...The first one is a beer called Hitachino White Nest Ale...the bartender incorrectly (I think) said it was brewed with rice...so I was intrigued and ordered one....WOW it is an awesome beer...nice hoppy slightly fruity taste..great finish...just a great surprise...the second one is by Maui brewing and is a coconut porter....I didnt really get a lot of coconut taste (doesnt mean there isnt any...my palate is a beginner!)...but more chocolate and smoky...another pleasant surprise...
