Random beers you really like

    Picked up an Opa-Opa Barrel Aged Milk Stout bomber at a local bin end. It was either that for $4 or Affligem Noel for $6. Both had December bottling dates. I skipped Affligem even though it's right up my alley. Not at all sorry about the Opa-Opa which I just finished. The same store had CBC pumpkin ale in the clearance section some time in March, when everyone else was still carrying it on the shelves. It was our favorite pumpkin, so we cleared the shelf at $4 each bomber. I suppose, that one is not exactly random since I came across it right after we finished our earlier stock.

    PS: "Really like" might be a bit of an exaggeration. It's competent milk stout and excellent for that price. Would I pay $8 for that? Not so sure.

    A friend gave me a bottle of Hofbrau Winter Spezial. I hadn't had it before and wasn't aware it existed. I found it quite tasty.

    Love the stout, but I the love the Scottish Porter even more. Probably my favorite underrated brewery. All the beers I've had from them are at least good. Most are great.

    I've been eyeing down that Scottish Porter! We stopped getting distribution on even the Extra Stout, so I will have to get some online or trade for my fix.
