I was in my local TW browsing for what I will buy tomorrow and noticed a six pack of Arrogant Bastard in cans. I had not seen this before. My luck with most boxed beers is that there is no canned/bottled on date. Just packaged or enjoy by. The Arrogant Bastard box has both canned on and enjoy by dates.

It makes the purchase a lot easier with that information. Thank you.

Good point. I appreciate when any brewery writes "bottled/canned on" or "best before/best by" before the date, otherwise I don't know what the date really means - unless I buy it on that day, which would clearly indicate that that's not a production date!

I think both the canned on and enjoy by dates are commendable.............I would, however, be happy with just a canned on date and let me judge for myself If I want to buy.......

Canned/bottled on date - in plain numbers (i.e. not a fucking Julian code; I don't care if it's simple enough to figure out, I don't want to have to figure it out, I want a calendar date) - is one of my favorite things to see on a beer. Enjoy by is a bonus.

@kell50 and I discovered that 6 pack last week at Harris Teeter. They were selling the 6 pack of 16oz cans for an outstandingly low price of $7.99!!! Amazing deal! ...so we bought 3... The pic is the aftermath of our Friday evening with our wives claiming a few cans as well...

Oh snap there is a HT right by my office. I'll need to stop in there after work! Hopefully they have it. 7.99 is a great deal.

Woah, that jargon of stuff is a date? I had no idea what that ever meant..

Let me understand. You go to the beer store & don't buy anything. You just go to determine what you will buy the next day....I must have that wrong or you must have a lot of time on your hands.

Holy crap that's gotta be a pricing error. That's almost as cheap as any AAL out there.

I won't buy IPA's without a bottle-on-date that is simple to read (no codes). Too many bad experiences and I just won't do it anymore.
If it's a more forgiving style I'm not as picky but I'd still like to see this as regular practice for all beers.

I'm reserving my thanks for when they put RuinTen and Double Bastard into 12-oz bottles.

I love how clearly the dates are marked on Stone products as well. They take the guessing right out of the process and it's much appreciated!

Exactly. Maybe one day other breweries will catch on. I am surprised it isnt a common practice to be honest.
