I'm late to the game but starting a Surly anniversary beer vertical. I only have Eight and NEIN. I'm slowly trading for others. I'm very interested in hearing others rank each of the anniversary beers with details why. I'm looking to attend various Surly tap takeovers to try more of them!

I had 5 at Heritage's event on thursday and thought it was amazing. By far the best I've had. Four was nice as well, had it with 4 years on it and it was delicious. I would say 5>4>8>6>9>7.

I have had Surly Four and on...Four is by far the best....one of the best beers I've ever had, period. Five would rank second for me.

I would love to try some of these on tap! Why all the hate for 7? After reading the Surly descriptions it sounds like one of the best to me.

While I wouldn't necessarily put it at the top of my list, I had 7 recently and thought that it improved tremendously with age vs fresh.

I also think that seven is a better beer now than it was previously. The Brett has really helped to bring it around.
    My ranking:
    5 > 7 > 6 > 8 > 9 > 3

    1 - 3 - 5 - 4 - 8 - 6 - 7 - 2 - (haven't tried 9)

One & three were tap only. Two was extremely limited & likely unobtainable at this point. Once a beery highlight of the year, I haven't been much interested in an anniversary beer since Five.

    Ive only had 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9
But I would say 8 is the best, the the rest aren't even worth ranking honestly, they were all below average
If I had to it would be
    8>5>7>6>9

Just had 5 at Brewer's Table last night (may be the easiest way to have it at this point). Tasting great as always. I've had each of them except 9 but a few were so long ago it's hard to remember. 5 and 8 are standouts for sure. I never got the hype on 4. It's good but not "trades for rare Loons" good. Syx has definitely improved from fresh when it tasted like wood and rubbing alcohol but I don't think it will ever be a really great beer. Interested to try 7 again to see how the Brett is playing out. My ABR program from 2006 or 2007 tells me I tried Bourbon One but I have no memory. I am not a fan of 3. A very kind friend opened a bottle of 2 a year or so ago. Was fine but you'd probably have to trade your first born to get hold of one of the probably 5 or 10 bottles that still exist and that would not be worth it.

I don't think it has a flavor profile most like, but if it sounds good to u I bet you'll enjoy it. it was so readily available at the time I ended up purchasing 2 cases of it. Too each their own, I personally like it quite a bit. As far as ranking, I find that difficult bc they are all so different. I've had 3 and up. 3 was terrible to me, I guess braggots aren't my thing, and 9 did nothing for me. I really liked all the others.

Its not hate, I mean 7 is decent..but once you have it I think you will see that it isn't anything special...
