BCBS is the standard by which all other BA stouts are measured. Ranking the remaining beers on your list, I would place KBS #2, BA Pt5 #3, and Black Note #4. Each stands out in its own way. But, as dar482 said, "don't take our word for it, try'em yourself!"

I wouldn't put Bourbon County in the same ranking. It's far inferior. It was good on draught only, but took a dive upon mass distribution and bottling after 2005.

Jeffo you nailed it. Could not agree more. Bourbon County was great in 1992 until the early 2000s. When they raised the abv to over 12% it went down hill. I wouldn't put it even in the top 20 Bourbon Barrel Aged Stouts anymore. The problem is high alcohol and heavy bourbon flavor has been the driving force. When Greg Hall conceived the idea of Boubon County Stout it was a totally intriguing concept. However, it has jumped the shark with its heavy booziness.

I gotta say I really love boozy bourbon flavor...I would have to say it goes like this for now.

    BCBS
    Bbpt5th
    Black note

,.....I have a KBS I willbe opening here this or next week.

Not sure where it will be in this ranking yet....to be continued....

A lot of people who 'don't like rankings' and 'just drink beer because beer' took the time to click on the link titled "Rank these beers..." and leave a couple pennies, huh?

The point of the thread looks to be to start a discussion about similar beers between people who are at a point somewhere between enjoying beer and having a large stick shoved up their ass.

If be happy with any of them, all terrific beers.

I would probably say BCBS, Black note, BBPt5, KBS if I had to. Would love to try Black Note again, only had a 750ml bottle last year from the last batch before they switched to 12oz and thought it was phenomenal.

Unecessary response. Every thread could end in that manner and then where would we be....enjoying a beer without the distraction of telling others what we are drinking, what is best, etc ad nauseam dunked in shit?

BBPt5 is tied with Black Note for me, but both are worlds ahead of BCBS and (especially) KBS.

I have a BCBCS (Coffee) - any tips on how long to age? It's been in a wine cooler since the release. I assume the coffee fades over time. Thanks.

Hoping to get my hands on a KBS or two for a comparison. Liked BCBS but thought the booziness and bourbon were a bit much - wanted more stout flavor.
