I was able to get 5 bottles of Ensorcelled from Rare Barrel. My goal is to share a couple of bottles with fellow BA members, drink a couple and possibly try and trade a bottle. I don't really see Rare Barrel on the trade forum just wondering if I will have trouble trading a bottle and if in general there is any demand for the Rare Barrel beers. Thanks for any input.

    ISO: Ensorcelled
FT: 1 bottle of Zombie Dust (that's the current going rate, you know how we FIBS are!!)

All kidding aside, I don't think you should have any problem trading Rare Barrel even though it doesn't seem to pop up much in the trade forums, or as much as they should IMO (can't understand why as they are making some of the best stuff out there!)
I would imagine you should find someone relatively easy especially being outside of CA.

    Cheers!!

I'm not sure if it's on people's radar enough yet? I just did a trade with a regular trading partner and he went $4$ on a Map of the Sun and surprised me with a Wise Guise as an extra - but we've made a ton of trades before and he's super generous, so I'd imagine that's not the norm.

If you put up a FT Rare Barrel you will 100% be able to go $4$ with a limited release IMO

I did an IP trade to get rare barrel. there is some interest but not known as much yet since its a younger brewery. People are interested, people I have traded with often ask if i can get rare barrel. good luck op

Since I have heard that the brewery started, I have wanted to try their stuff. I don't know what is fair to trade for it yet. Once I do, I will pull the trigger and get some cross country trading done.

RB has great value. I'd say you can land something in the range of a Huna, Dark Lord, Abraxas for one. I would easily have traded you a '14 DL for one, but I just let my last one go!

Thank you for your input just the idea of landing a Huna makes my eyes light up.

How did this end up working out?

I just found myself in a similar situation where my regular trade partner sent me 5 bottles of rare barrel and I'm debating how many to keep and drink and how many to trade.

How much do Rare Barrel bottles go for at retail?

    Almost...
They retail for between $18 and ... I heard one was $36 at the brewery, maybe I misheard but it was $30 or more.
I think their latest fruit one was $24, as was Map of the Sun iirc.

I've really liked their stuff, I know some people that really dislike them, IDK why. They are on the cleaner side as far as funk, but can have many nuances, with good balance (I've had 8 or 9 of their beers).

They trade OK. $4$ with limited stuff, but not very limited stuff generally, except for their very limited stuff (Ambassador's only maybe). This seems to be because bottles tend to be available in the tap room for a few weeks at 8-12pp/day.

Seems to depend on the bottle. Base sours without additions are around $20 and the fruited ones are as much $30. Their pricing is high IMO. The beers are all good though.
