Who said I drank my beer outside of "the normal condition of a growler?"

Since you mentioned "trading partners", I'm assuming keeping the growlers fresh and cold wasn't one of your primary concerns.

Reports of infection didnt seem to pop up until after a week since the original date of release, which is getting to the far end of what can be considered a growler in optimal condition. Doug is being extremely generous by saying his growlers will last a month.

For a .bal stout, a month or even two months should be considered fresh, even in a growler. Hell, the AB Huna growlers are still holding up just fine. If filled correctly, they can theoretically last just as long as a bottle. Additionally, keeping the growlers cold just slows the infection. If there is no infection, it doesn't really matter if they are stored at room temp or in the fridge.

Lets be clear, when it comed to purchasing beer you dont have any rights to marginalize. Hell as a consumer in this situation you have no rights to speak of unless you can point to a policy of PEGS that I couldnt find. Pegs I am sure cares about their customer, I was merely suggesting that they will survive without customers like you. Demanding, selfish people who think their money gives them a license to be assholes.

I would be incredibly uncomfortable holding any non-counter filled growler for longer than three days. I know that previous Peg's barrel releases have been counter-filled, but even then I'd be wary past a week.

It is my understanding they were filled with a beer gun, which to some, is considered a form of counter-pressured filling. I would agree if it were a screwtop.

Yes and now Peruvian Morning lives with the ongoing stigma of infection. It has negatively impacted their name and reputation. Has it closed them? No, then again the proverbial "craft beer bubble" hasn't popped. That being said many a brewery has been forced to close due to making a sub par product, tell me whats the difference between making something sub par and making something good that has been tainted?

Doug is doing this because he doesn't want to carry a bad name by making a bad product on the eve of opening an extension of their current business.

Every single reply has failed to address how a business or an individual could possibly sell a product at a premium, fall short of expectations, and not reasonably be expected to make amends.

Make no mistake my panties are not in a bunch because of the beer, Doug or Cycle Brewing. My panties are in a bunch because I lodged a reasonable grievance on a message board based on the fact that a second expectation from the same business fell threw; it was met with hostility and trivialized. I simply was seeking if anyone else had heard or knew more than myself. If you'll look upward my statements did not began to even address entitlement, satisfaction or rights as a consumer until someone outwardly attacked them.

Again, I will reiterate Doug's response to me was as follows -

This does not say "You must respond by the 21st to be considered for full compensation" or any of the other million ways it could be positioned. It literally said the deadline for full compensation is Aug. 21st.

Frankly I'm not the one that needs to calm down. It's this community at large that seeks to jump down the throat of any individual that asks a simple question that didn't even need to be replied to if you didn't have the answer or useful input.

I traded a few yes, and drank some myself. My experience didn't vary from that of my trading partners. Mine were shuttled directly home and placed in proper conditions and consumed promptly.

The only thing that I know for a fact (other than we will be fully reimbursed for the bad brews that we got) is that the next batch that we get (which I know what it is) will be growler filled and will have a 7 day guarantee on it. Expect an email by Friday or so.

Ironic considering I simply asked a question without any insinuation of rights or entitlement and you immediately jumped down my throat in your first response.

The issue here is simple. You are misinterpreting what Doug wrote, although I will grant you it could have been written more clearly. He's just saying the deadline to notify him about bad growlers and receiving full compensation is 8/21. NOT that full compensation will be received by the end consumer by 8/21.

Think about it - if he's taking notifications about infected growlers until 8/21, how could he possibly instantaneously get the compensatory items into our hands the same day?

And I won't deny that's a possibility, and at this point through further conversation, the reality. It was a misinterpreted sentence and that's all I was getting at. I obviously have a different viewpoint regarding the relationship a business and a consumer shares, and that's fine. What's not okay is attacking someone for it.

I don't usually make personal attacks. I generally reserve them for members of Westboro Baptist. On this occassion, however, I will make an exception.

You sir, are a dumbass and appear to have little insight into the following:

    1. Infections
    2. Growlers
    3. BEER
    4. Business acumen
    5. How a reputation is born
    6. Reading
    7. That "i" comes before "e", except after "c".
    8. Satire/irony
I could go on, but....meh. Small problem is small problem.
