    Shawn,
Sorry if the post came across angry. I didn't write it in anger, just posting it from my experience. I know all of the respondents (on my post) on here personally so I'm not just casting out a blind angry Internet post for the sake of being a dick. I feel confident that Doug and I have resolved this previous problem and that everyone that may have a problem going forward will be taken care of.

Anger may have been a strong word...as I know from personal experience you are a great guy! Florida is full of awesome breweries and great beer advocates like yourself and is without a doubt the second state I would choose to live right behind my great state of Michigan!

Can we all get a room, cuddle, and drink non-infected RareDOS?

    My treat.

Since you are a self proclaimed 8/8 on non infected DOS...that may be the only place to find any.

    See you in March!

After reading this thread, I decided to crack the RareDOS growler of I got. It was pretty obviously infected and was a drain pour. Super bummed :-(

Looks like the non-Florida curse continues.

The two I consumed were excellent, but was told by a trading partner the one I sent was infected :slight_frown:

I bought 9... 4 have been consumed (2 by me and 2 by trading partners). So far we haven't had an issue. I'm holding out hope that they'll all be good!

So far I'm 2/2 no problems. Supposed to send the third out west, but now I'm nervous. What's the etiquette in a situation like this? If I disclose the issue up front and he still wants it, is it on me to send a new bottle if there's a problem? Obviously I would if it just happened, but knowing up front, I almost don't want to send it if I'm risking the expense of mailing something else.

^ I'm wondering the same. It's great that Peg's is handling this, but I am very hesitant to send any growlers out now. I'm leaning towards not shipping any others out at this point...

hey here's an idea: never ship growlers.

I don't know why people are freaking out about shipping the growlers. The person who sent me mine from FL opened his 2 after I told him about mine being infected, and his were as well. Growlers don't magically become infected as soon as they sit in a truck and exposed to heat. Conversely, I know quite a few people who received a growler in the mail that were great.

I've done plenty of growler trades without any problems or infections, aside from the occasional one not having carbonation.

Out of curiousity and wanting to be further educated, why do you think its a bad idea? I am always hesitant to ship them because of the security of the capping... is there other reasons shipping growlers may not be a good idea?

I'm curious to see what their growing system it's like, how many different barrels were combined each time they filled growlers or did they fill them from each separate barrel.
