Thought some DFW people would be interested. Not sure if the brewery is the only place that will see this beer.

OH NO! Someone dropped raspberries in a barrel of Bourbon Barrel Temptress. Guess we'll have to put it on for the tour Saturday. ‪#‎bbt13‬‪#‎OMGraspberries‬

Lakewood Brewing CompanyWe are not bottling the beer this year. This was a fun little experiment for us this year. But it looks like we'll be making a lot more next year and bottling it as well.

Bet there'll probably be special announcements for it if it indeed leaves the brewery.

Also they did put out a huge ass list of where Raspberry Temptress will be on tap, here it is if you can't see it on their facebook:

My understanding is that the general release is not bourbon barrel raspberry temptress, but the brewery will have that beer on Saturday. Not to discount straight Raspberry Temptress, just to try and make a distinction.

I didn't even catch that there was a reg and bb version. I had the Raspberry Temptress last night...may have to find time to make it to the brewery this weekend and try the barrel version. For science, of course.

So how is the regular Raspberry? Is it worth skipping the Peticolas tour this Saturaday and going to Lakewood instead?

I sampled the Reg Raspberry Temptress tonight at Lonestar...good time as always, and the Lakewood guys were great...the beer itself was def sweeter than reg Temptress, but I just did not get much Raspberry flavor, on the nose, in the mouth or on the finish. Every once in a while it would whiff in, but just not enough to make me think "Raspberries". If you gave this to someone blind, I doubt they would be able to pick out any specific fruit. Having said that, still a very good beer, I just hope if they bottle it next year they bump up the flavor a bit, if possible...

Bought a glass and a growler last night at whole foods and thought it was great but the raspberry was subtle and right at the front. Drinking another one now and it is def more present. Great stuff, crazy how your pallet can change like that. Hoping for the same with vanilla noir as I didn't taste that much at the craft and growler bottle share but the next guy to me called it a vanilla bomb.

The vanilla was huge if you let it warm. Cold, even slightly chilled, not much vanilla came though.

Anyone know what kind of barrel's Lakewood has been using for Temptress. As much as I like it, there is room improvement still.

I believe they were Bulleit barrels.

Fort Worth Flying Saucer will be tapping this on Friday and giving the glass away.

I'm going to try and be there.

I'm hoping to get out to the tour tomorrow, sounds like a great beer to try.

I'm pretty sure the BB Raspberry is brewery only, FS is probably tapping the non-barrel aged Raspberry Temptress.

Non-BBA stuff is good and worth finding. The raspberry is subtle but pleasantly so. Too much raspberry would have added more acidity and thinness to the beer than it should have. Raspberry is more obvious as the beer warms.

And Four Roses the year before if memory serves me correctly.
