I admit, I was not thrilled at the recent changes to the rating system. I really enjoyed the precise rating function and spent a lot of time going back and amending old ratings after trying a beer a second or third time. I get why they did it; back to the roots, more thoughtful assessment... Everyone's definition of "thoughtful" is a bit different I would imagine and I know that I put a lot of thought into my ratings over the course of time.

Anyways, no sense living in the past. I have done my best to adjust. The 5 attribute rating system is a great, universal way to review beer but I continue to stumble on feel. I can understand giving a lower rating for a stout that comes across as thin for example but with other styles, I rarely find myself reflecting on the mouthfeel as above or below par. Inevitably, the rating for feel ends up being a balancer for my overall. If the algorithm shows my rating is 4.16 but I'm feeling it's closer to a 4.25, I'll go back and up the rating for feel.

Curious to hear how other BAs rate feel. If anyone has some pointers for me or if others also use certain attributes as a balancer for what they actually want to rate the beer. Thanks!
