Throwing this out there to see if there is any interest. Is anyone interested in semi-regularly meeting up either virtually or in person to rate some beer? A lot of local craft beers do not have a lot of ratings for better or worse. Ideally I'd love to meet at a different bottle shop and buy a few beers to split or on draft. The other option is to do a blind tasting with like 5-6 of the same style and rate simultaneously. The virtual idea is to buy the beer before hand and live update a thread or Skype or something like that. Any ideas? Peace, Dan
Rather than using Skype, I'd suggest using the Hangout (group video chat) feature of Google+. In order to use group chat with Skype, at least one person (possibly everyone, but I'm not sure) needs a Skype Premium account, and even then you're limited to 3 (possibly 4) people. With G+ Hangouts you can have up to 10 people connected at once and it doesn't cost anything.
I like this idea - so much stuff on the shelf, so little time. Meeting in person would allow for splitting bombers that may turn out sketchy in quality 3 or 4 ways.
