Is there a way to rate breweries under places? I know you can if it is a restaurant, but is there a way to rate beer tours and brewery experience? I would like to read about some breweries and wouldn't mine rating a few (sam adams, leinenkugel, etc). Thanks and keep up the great work!
Having read through other threads I see that the site redesign will attempt to go through suggestions, so consider this another one!
Right now, it is pretty simple. If a brewery has a tap room/bar that you can buy beer from, and carries regular business hours then you can review it. If it is just a production brewery, you can't review it. Example: I can review Golden City Brewery in CO because they are a bar. I can not review Karbach Brewing in TX because they are a production brewery that just has tastings/tours once or twice every week.
Right, but I was hoping we could rate production breweries so that fellow BA's could know if a brewery tour was worth checking out or not.
Ya, I guess they are still working on that update. This has come up before, and I don't know which way the Bros want to go. I think the places section can be the most informative on the site, and would love to see it expanded if people here can provide useful info.
I have noticed this too. I agree that it would be nice to be able to add all breweries to your places by giving reviews. I love checking out breweries when traveling and it would be nice to know if the tours are worth checking out by viewing BA's reviews. I have had some success with getting this changed on a couple of breweries by clicking update on the breweries page and explaining in the update report that the brewery needs to be changed to a brewery/bar. Hopefully they will change this for all breweries in the future.
