As a long time member of BA, I want to give some love and credit to a relatively new beer bar in Raynham on Rt. 138, The Flying Dog Bar & Grill. Since maybe 2006, I have had the term "Beer Vacuum" as part of the description in my BA Profile as to where I live. It was so true, until recently, thanks to The Flying Dog. While not anything to rival Sunset Grill, Cambridge Brewing, or The Publick House, the people there are committed to having a good selection of craft beer, and the food is also very good, for pub food. They have maybe 8 taps. Amongst others, I've recently seen Sam Latitude IPA, DFH 60 Minute IPA, Ballast Point Scuplin IPA, Guiness, Avery White Rascal, Left Hand Nitro Milk Stout, and maybe a couple more. In bottle, they have Chimay Grand Reserve, many Flying Dog beers, 21st Amendment Back in Black (cans), Vicory Summer Love, Narragansett, the usual BMC suspects, and more that I can't recall. I'm really thrilled to have them in town, and hope they thrive. If you live in that area, go check them out and share your thoughts. It is in Raynham on 138, about a mile south of 495; 524 Broadway for your GPS. No, I don't work there, I'm only a true BA and a fan of their beer, and food.
I second all of the above, although I do miss the broasted chicken from the old "B.B.Binks" that it used to be a long time ago! I think the Stone Forge has dropped the ball on this one, and the Flying Dog has picked it up, and run with it! More power to em, they get my business at least once a week, and I can't wait to spend Sundays here during football season! Thanks for the info BTB.....
Broasted chicken? Good one. Fried chicken with a clever marketing name. I agree with you about Stone Forge; every time I go there (which isn't often), I'm disappointed, both in the beer, and the food.
I was just there last night and also hope this place thrives. We really don't have any local options for a craft beer bar so this a desperately needed establishment. The food could be a little better in my opinion but I just love seeing Sculpin on tap so that trumps any gripes I have. Hopefully this place place can thrive and survive. Cheers
+1 to this. Stopped by here a few weeks ago in the area looking for a place for lunch and they had a pretty decent beer lineup. Food was solid as well. Good luck to them!
