Agreed. Rayon Vert is one of my favorite readily available beers out right now.

To all who are reading this and have never tried it- the above praise is all lies, lies I say, do not buy any of this beer, especially if you live in my distribution area, just leave it on the shelf and walk on by. Please?

Seriously though, as soon as the rest of the world finds out what we already know, that this beer is probably the most delicious funky Belgian Pale out there for the money, likely it will be cleaned out quickly from all the stores.

It's become a mainstay in my fridge, and it pairs so well with different types of cheese and other noshes.

Didn't you also start a thread about Anchorage when the forums were in their old format? I'm noticing a trend as far as your tastes are concerned. Long live brett!

As much as I love Anchorage, Orval, Flemish Kiss, and other funk bombs, RV scratches that itch quite nicely at a great price. I'm not too excited about recently seeing bombers of the stuff pop up. Hopefully the four pack continues as well and both formats can coexist.

An all time favorite and Green Flash's best offering.

I've bought more of this than nearly any other beer since it came out for fear of never seeing it on shelves again

Isn't Rayon Vert in both 4 packs and bombers? I never actually saw any bombers out by me only the 4 packs which are everywhere.

Funny, I made a thread in the Mid Atlantic forum asking about available brett beers and this was suggested. Picked some up and it's absolutely awesome. Not quite as good as Boulevard Saison Brett, but it quelled my thirst for funk quite ably since Boulevard isn't distributed here. One of the few bretted beers I can think of that isn't limited to bomber/750 format.

I talked with the green flash guy during beer week and he said 12oz, 22oz, year round and no kegs ever, in keeping with the orval tradition

@tigernipples The bombers just came out and all the 4-packs in town are old. I remember reading something about them replacing the 4-packs with bombers around June (both here and on a beer news website), so I figured that once the 4-packs were gone, we wouldn't see them again. If onix1agr is correct, though, then both will be available and I will be freaking stoked!!! As a 4-pack this is one of the best values in the beer world, especially for Spring and Summer!!!

What's the shelf life (is it on the bottle)?

This is a beer I would assume that a little age wouldn't hurt, and perhaps benefit very much....

Oh, I agree, and I'd happily buy the stuff with some age on it. I was just dreading the day when the 4-packs were sold out and I could only find bombers. It seems now that my fears may have been unfounded.

Gotcha. Yeah, I'd be much more weary of throwing down on a bomber of this vs the 4 pack.

Not even comparable beyond the aroma. Rayon Vert has absolutely nothing on Orval. It's all sour and no complexity. The aroma is nice but the flavor is horrible and all of mine have been borderline gushers. Another super over-rated beer from Green Flash. (see my review for more details)

Double Stout is damn good too, and west coast ipa is by far one of my favorite beers. GREEN FLASH RULES!!!!!

Just because others like a beer you dislike doesn't make it "super over-rated." I have never once heard anyone even close to hyping Green Flash. Do they get the occasional praise? Sure, but most breweries do, and I feel that many of their beers in fact deserve said praise.

As mentioned ^^ Double Stout is really good as is West Coast IPA.
