And on that note, I thought I'd put in my two cents: Green Flash is one of my favorite all-around breweries right now, though I suppose you might not be a fan if you're into lagers. But if you like American-style ales, they're pretty much tits. Tits galore, in fact. WCIPA is killer, Palate Wrecker was phenomenal I though, Rayon Vert is just wonderful, Double Stout is great and an awesome value, Le Freak is, again, tits, and they just started dating their bottles (finally). Taking into overall quality and value, now that they're dating I think they're hard to beat. My opinion.

Rayon Vert gives me a palate chub.

Well, picked up a 4pk last night and tried my first Rayon Vert. It was definitely interesting and had a ton of the citrus/spicy/brett action, but it wasn't really my style. Guess I'll stick to West Coast and Double Stout, which are both mainstays in our fridge.

This beer is wonderful. I'm confused on this pic? haha. Rayon Vert is pale, this looks like an Irish red or a Dubbel.

Double stout is one of my favorites. I hesitate to buy West Coast IPA because of no bottle date.

No Red or Dubbel is that red. The lighting in the room was low, and the flash went off on my camera. It must have picked up on some tones you wouldn't see in really good ambient lighting. If you hold the beer to the light though I think you would see at least some of the reddish hues here.

My local beer store in CT finally got Green Flash, Sixpoint and Clown Shoes the other day. Tried all their new offerings at a tasting. The winner...by FAR...was Rayon Vert. I can't get enough of this stuff. Glad to see others feel the same way!

Not particularly, not in my opinion, at least. BPA, which I enjoy (when fresh—the dry-hopping adds a lot to that beer, but it seems to drop off pretty fast), is in most respects pretty typical of the Belgian Pale Ale style, I think. Dry, biscuity, slightly spicy, moderately effervescent. Rayon Vert is a different animal, I think, without a doubt. Has a lot of the same qualities, but the hop profile is very different, the malt profile has some interesting, subtle distinctions from your typical Belgian Pale (again, opinion only—I am in no way and do not pretend to be a cicerone or some other professional), and then the brett character adds a whole different dimension to it.

    That's my two cents.

I haven't had a Green Flash beer I've liked. West Coast IPA was too sweet and not hoppy enough, Palette Wrecker was too malty and not hoppy enough, Rayon Vert was way too thin/watery and not enough Belgian yeast flavor (I love Brett beers too). I have a double stout in my refrigerator so we'll see how that goes. As someone mentioned earlier, we just got Green Flash distro in CT along with Sixpoint, and I'd trade both of them for Bell's or Firestone Walker or Dark Horse in a heartbeat. Just glad we're getting Founders soon.

Love this beer as well. Tried it right after it came out while visiting San Diego. Brought a few bottles home with me just in case it didn't make it's way to the east coast. Great beer at a great value.

Cool, thanks !! I'll need to wait for that to work it's way through. I suppose that means that all stock out there is older than 5/21, so that is informative. A beer store near me has West Coast IPA from when it was 1st delivered there like 3 years ago !!!!!!!

after letting it sit 10 minutes.

best lacing i have seen. not a huge fan of the taste. primarily tasted spice and pepper. too one dimensional. but i am not a huge bpa fan, so there lies the problem. tick it off the list

Love the RV. I like that I can swing by the wholefoods and grab a four pack anytime. Cost about a dollar more a four pack than case price but I do not need to drop almost $60 at a time this way.

    Enjoy

I quit drinking Brett/extreme beers long ago, due to lifestyle changes & my evolution as a beer drinker. I really don't have the time, patience or finances to chase down those types of beers any more.

Enter Rayon several months ago. A 4 pack from a brewery I respect at a reasonable price point? WTF...I'll give it a whirl.

Whoa & behold - a well -made drinkable beer that brings back memories of my Belgian ticking days over 10 yrs ago. Really enjoy it & buy it on occasion as a splurge.
