All this talk made me buy another 4 pack this evening. Two tucked away till fall, two will be gone in T-minus...

Drinking some Rayon Vert right now. I would highly suggest Jolly Pumpkin E.S. Bam if you like RV.

I think the most recent batch was about two years ago. I had a bottle within the past couple months and thought it had really fallen off.

eek. they should start that beer up again. the market for it now has to be bigger. ought to be in 6pk/4pks though.

Going to try a Rayon Vert in a few minutes, if it lives up to the praise I will need to stock up on this. Hard to get a nice brett beer at that price.

For me...ORVAL far exceeds any other beer in this category. Widely available and immensely satisfying. Cheers!

6pk, line priced with Hop Wallop, Golden Monkey, Storm King? I'd take that!

Very happy with this beer, it is much different than Orval so those comps should stop. It is more inline with a bretted saison such as Boulevard's as well as the current CBC Brett Grisette.

Not a "comp." Orval defines the style. Period.

what style? "pale ale with brett"? don't get hung up on the idea of styles. beers are beers, they don't have categories stamped on them or encoded into their DNA.

Really? I do love Orval, and BA lists it as Belgian Pale, but what style does it define? Not all BP's are Bretted, but even at that I like Petrus better if that is the determinant, and there are plenty of other great BP's available in this country, and many more only in Belgium.

If your post was sarcasm, my apologies.

Some good Victory beers have fallen out of production (such as Wild Devil and Old Horizontal) due to high demand on their regular offerings. Good news is, they are in the process of opening a new production brewery just down the road from the current one and we should see these return.

Thanx for all the input. I do love me some saison. I do have a bottle of Helios I picked up but thought it was more along a wit or saison. Need to open it soon. It was really cheap at 3.25 for a large bottle.

    Enjoy
