    Greetings,

I'm dog sitting for a friend next week whom is heading down to Florida and stated that she'll bring some beer back for me in relation. Being that she is not really into craft beer I don't expect her to be stopping at any breweries, mainly just grocery or possible liquor stores, and was wondering if there was any "readily available" breweries/beers that would be worth and/or suggested getting a 6 pack or 2 of.The only brewery I"m somewhat familiar with from the area would be Cigar City (though have never had anything from them)

I typically drink Stouts, Porters, and German styles but am pretty open to just about anything.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

have her get you a 6 pack of cigar city maduro brown ale...costs about $8.99 and you can find it at most grocery stores in Florida. for other breweries/beers you need to be more specific than "Florida"

February batch of Last Snow just hit stores last week. A lot of Publix stores even get a couple cases of it now....$10 for a bomber. Central & south FL gets Big Top's offerings, and they offer 6 packs of a beer pretty similar to LS called Hawaiian Lion. If she can find any fresh MegaMix by MIA or Sunshine City by Green Bench, those are some pretty good hoppier options. Central & north FL has Swamphead pretty readily available, and I also like Big Nose from them if its pretty fresh.

Publix has all the flagships from CCB, should be easy to get those. They usually have something from coppertail, jdubs, and tampabay brewing company in the cooler too.

    Hello everyone,

I will be in Punta Gorda for the next week. I will also travel to Fort Myers and Tampa. Aside from CCB, are there any other breweries that are can't miss in the area?

Also, I definitely prefer scotch ales, ESBs, browns, porters, stouts, (malty beers) to IPAs and other hop bombs.

Funky Buddha maple bacon coffee porter is still on shelves down here too. If she gets you any hoppy beers just politely ask her to check canned on dates on the bottom. If she can get fresh-ish mega mix, grab it. That's my go to hoppy beer nowadays. Good luck man!

Also, be sure to stop at Calusa in Sarasota. It's on your way to Tampa. Their brown ale is really good.

When in Fort Myers area visit Bury Me Brewing. 15-20 of their beers on tap and they had 4-5 different bombers, including Barrel aged, when I was there a few weeks ago.
