Any Jack's Abby fans out there that can help me decipher the code on the label? The numbers don't make sense to me and they're oriented in two different directions. Thanks!

ummm last I checked they had a straightforward bottled on date on the side of the label (mm/dd/yy) although they did say they were having problems with their labeler

It's hard to type this because of the orientation, but it appears to say:

    (upsidedown) 70. (upsidedown) 10. 20

Maybe it's just a mistake and impossible to age.

    I remember these bottles. I believe it's 07/10/13.

It's always been "bottled on mm/dd/yyyy" everytime I've seen one, though sometimes it's missing or smudged.

Interesting. I found these bottles of Hoponius Union at a store in VT the other day.
I was surprised to see it there and have always wanted to try it. My first impression: This tastes like a really good, unique beer that is past its prime. I guess I was right.

All the bottles I've looked at recently only have a couple of indecipherable #'s printed on the side - or are dated sometime in May. Either way, not really enticing me to buy....

I bought same batch in Cape Cod this summer ... clearly a funky mirror image going on. Distinctly remember the "07" being weird. I have had prior batches where the date looked fine.

The month and year are usually right on the label and pretty clear, but as noted they have had issues with their coder lately. I noticed Mass Rising and Wet Hop had no dates at all on the bottles I just purchased, but I reckon that is less than a month or so old anyway. Wet Hop was good, Mass Rising was like amped up 2nd Anniversary - darn good - regardless of the date. Maybe with expansions done, full pour license granted, and babies delivered they can get the coder up to snuff.

Dougfur - fresh Hop Union is absolutely, well, yummy! Don't give up on it. It's like fresh grapefruit but its beer.

They have posted in another thread that the dater is important to them but all the other things are rightly taking priority right now ...

I won't give up. Even three months out, it's pretty good beer. And, on a side note, I freakin' love these bottles. They were just made for homebrewing; beatiful, pint sized and the label comes off like a dream...
