Got an email today and noticed it's the same weekend as Zwanze day. It could be a fun weekend in Austin. Details are here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/real-a...il&utm_term=0_afb5bb4c1a-37467dd0ea-280377937 The short of it is they'll have live music, a ton beer on tap including some of those hard-to-find Mysterium Verum beers, food and a $20 entrance. I wish I could get down for this.
Went to the party like 4-5 years ago when it was completely free. Got food poisoning from the BBQ and still had a good time. TONS of beer and casks too which they do so well. Beer list this year is insane but I'm sure it's way too crowded now for me to enjoy.
Oh man, I hadn't seen that. That's a real bummer. There's more than 4 I wanted to try! Still might see about it, should be a good time.
The event is only 5 hours long anyways. I'm viewing this more like a dive into some of the things i never usually try from them. And Blanco is very pretty.
Had a great time, glad I went in spite of the weather! Lux Aeterna and Benedictum were my favorites. Codex Triplex was next. Imperium was my 4th, but I didn't care for it too much. Lux was great, tropical fruits, tart, and just a little funk on the back end. Benedictum was tart sour cherry and delicious. Codex Triplex was nice and funky, just not quite the same level as the other 2 for me.
Was a great time despite the rain at the start. Highlander and Cafe de Olla were the highlights for me!
