Grabbed a six pack of this on Friday and had a couple over the weekend. Does anyone know if they tweaked the recipe on this like they did Lost Gold and Full Moon? It seems a touch more intense on the coffee side, which I really appreciate. Or is it because it is still so fresh?

Got my first six pack this weekend as well. One of my favorites. Maybe just slightly more coffee forward than I remember in years past but that can be any number of things, from my own recollection, it being supper fresh, and that not every beer is going to be the exact same year in year out no matter how hard they try. It is still incredibly balanced, not supper coffee forward to begin with. I will be getting many more while I can.

One of the TX beers (and breweries) I will miss the most.

    Lucky Texas mofos!

If this were to get canned I'd be really excited! Excited none the less. One of the best coffee porters out there and not just in Tx.

Had this on tap at Nobi this weekend as well as the AK Coffee Brown which was better imo

Funny, I just got a six of this and thought the coffee was almost non-existent. Still a great porter though, not to bash.

You're not alone. I found this years to be less coffee forward, but i still enjoyed it.

I only got a single of it, but I also thought it had very little coffee, but was still pretty good.

I usually buy a sixer of this every year, but I was glad to only try a single this year. The coffee flavor/aroma is more subtle than in the past. I wonder if they changed the amount of addition method.

Thought it was a bit thin than what I remember. Had 2-3 pints at a Houston release party.

Just having it again now in draught. Getting a lot more coffee aroma off the draft. I'm assuming that's what's helping with the flavor too. This is close to what I remeber last year.

This is one of the best porters that I've had. I try to grab one when I'm back in Texas seeing family.

I review this on tap last December at Whole Foods and I wasn't really that impressed with it. Was out tonite and it was on tap at Southern Goods, and I have to say going to have to revisit it. The coffee that I picked up tonite was way more prominent than last years. Very solid porter

Got a growler fill of this last week from Whole Foods. Not a ton of coffee on the aroma as others have stated, but still there. Overall, it's pretty good but I prefer Ascension so much more.
